About

As a humanities magnet, we value art along with literature, history and philosophy. We recognize that artistic expression is a record of the ideas, cultures and historical experience of human life. Our objective is to expose students to a diversity of artistic achievements throughout the four years here at Cleveland where art is integrated thematically with other Core classes. Students learn how to analyze and interpret the art presented to them from various perspectives: through a global lens in ninth grade, a European lens in tenth grade, an American lens in eleventh grade and a Western philosophical lens in twelfth grade. Then, students integrate the concepts they have learned in the production of their own projects. The selected projects in this museum represent past projects that may or may not be assigned this year.
